Get That Hat!

A Druid was one of the elite class among the ancient Celts; the aristocracy of the iron age people. They acted as priests, teachers, and judges. The name 'Druid' came from a Celtic word meaning “knower of the oak tree.”
We know very little about these worshippers of nature as writing anything down was frowned upon. Instead, they learned everything by heart; in songs and stories and Druid bards passed their knowledge on in this way. They would be a bit like the town cryer, or the tabloids of today.

If you heard my singing voice, I think you would agree that I would have no chance of becoming a bard. Earplugs would be the order of the day. Mind you, I love the picture of this Arch-druid. His hat is something to behold.
Read more about Druids in my book, 'Fires of Brigantia,' out soon.
